REFERENCE PHOTOS

I took these photos of myself so they could be on the SELF PORTRAIT PAGE.  But I took them as reference photos for two painters.  So that counts as modeling, right?  Well here they are:

Photos by MIKE REGAN

Late summer photo shoot in the Lakeview cemetery, permanent home to most of Seattle's earliest conquerers.

Well you know how I love the mirror option on my photo booth, right?  These photos are of me and my theater producing partner Telisa.

(+ A GUITAR AND HIS SKULL)
PHOTOS BY MIKE REGAN

This is a series of photos my friend Mike Regan took of his progress on this painting.  We worked on it A LONG TIME that's all I know, in 2011.  My hair grew from the first to the last, and also changed from brown to black, (as, much to Mike's horror, it did in life).

PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS

The oldest drawing is from when I was pregnant in 1994, the newest is  from last week.

I'm not sure when this was painted but I really like the colors and the light on her skin.

Sears & Roebucks Wish Book

This photo shoot was for our RIDING THE BULL project.  We needed some "Sears & Roebucks" like lingerie photos to complete the photo montage narrative.  I don't know if any of these will end up in the show, but the shoot with ARMEN STEIN was a lot of fun.  Thanks to my NAT cohorts, Telisa Steen and Carolynne Wilcox.

One of the first fashion shows i worked in was for a fetish/club fashion store still in Seattle.  We were supposed to have the show at a rave in Tukwila, or some other industrial suburb south of Seattle.  Us models were crammed into a van all dressed up in pvc and leather with huge heels and wigs.  We drove and drove, got lost, got lost again, and finally arrived at an airplane hangar or maybe it was a warehouse.  We paraded around in front of the crowd and then had to dance in a circle.
I was wearing all white.    I almost fell off my shoes my feet were hurting so bad.

When i was 15 it was the dream of my life to work at Fredrick's of Hollywood in the mall.  My mother was shocked and appalled that i would aspire to work in a hoochy lingerie store, tucked in the corner of the Alderwood Mall next to J.C. Penney.  I never worked there, but i did put in some time at The Love Pantry, a sex-toy store that also sold Fredrick's of Hollywood quality lingerie.
